FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 10-year-old boy is being called a hero after telling the school security officer about what he thought was an abduction one morning before school.
Karter Consolazio is the boy’s name, and he goes to Wadsworth Elementary school.
“You see something, you say something,” Karter told him.
It’s something he lives by.
Karter saw two of his friends in what he thought was a dangerous situation on Wednesday morning.
He said that they were playing tag when someone in a car yelled at them. Then, two of Consolazio’s friends went to the car, talked to the man for a while, and got in.
The school security officer was called right away by Consolazio.
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said, “Not only did he see something and say something, but it was almost like he had a photographic memory of what he had seen because he really described details that a lot of people might not have noticed.”
Sheriff Staly said that officers looked into the case and found that the man was the father of the two children. However, Staly said that if the man had taken the children, Consolazio’s acts would have helped them find him.
“He told us right away, as he should have, and he did a great job of describing what happened,” Staly said.
Karter got a pass to their CSI summer camp from the sheriff’s office, and he said he’s excited to go.
