A second teenager has been charged by prosecutors about a stolen car crash that occurred in the Aurora St. Luke’s employee parking garage near 29th and Dakota.

According to investigators, a 17-year-old named Jayden Davis was behind the wheel of the car that was taken by a 15-year-old from a 75-year-old woman in the hospital parking structure.

The carjacking occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. on August 13th. According to authorities, a 15-year-old individual allegedly approached the woman in a parking structure and demanded her car keys. According to investigators, when she failed to comply, he resorted to violence, assaulting her and forcefully taking her car keys before fleeing the scene.

The woman received medical treatment at the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the police.

Early the following day, officers from Greendale and Greenfield found themselves engaged in a high-speed pursuit with the stolen vehicle. There was an incident near 15th and Burnham.

A pair of teenagers were spotted fleeing from the stolen vehicle. Footage from a body camera captures an officer swiftly apprehending the driver and taking him into custody. According to investigators, Davis was behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Davis has been charged with multiple offenses, including fleeing from an officer, endangering safety, and driving a vehicle without permission.

As per the criminal complaint, Davis was captured on jailhouse phone calls shortly after being arrested, stating, “I didn’t take the car, but I was the driver. I didn’t take the car, I didn’t steal it,” and “The way that car got stolen is a very serious crime, they know it wasn’t me.”

The 15-year-old was apprehended on the same night as Davis when he fled into a nearby backyard.

“I was trying to get away,” the teen said on an officer’s body-worn camera.

A 15-year-old individual made an appearance in court on Monday. The identity of the teenager involved in the case is being withheld by WISN 12 News due to the ongoing proceedings in juvenile court. The state has requested that his case be transferred to adult court.

The defense attorney stated that their office would arrange for a doctor to evaluate the teenager. In addition, the judge has mandated that another doctor assess the teenager on behalf of the state. The doctors will assess the teenager and share their conclusions during a hearing scheduled for October. Next, a judge will determine if the case should be transferred to adult court.

Aurora St. Luke’s officials have taken steps to enhance security throughout their campus in response to the incident.
