The last payment of the September Social Security Program is about to be made by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Millions of payments are made by the Social Security Administration (SSA) to program participants each month.
These participants include retired employees as well as those who receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
According to the beneficiary’s date of birth, the SSA schedules payments to guarantee a well-organized distribution.
The second Wednesday of the month is when those born between the first and tenth, the third Wednesday is when those born between the eleventh and twentieth, and the last Wednesday of the month is when those born between the twenty-first and the thirty-first are paid.
Notably, SSI recipients and employees who retired prior to May 1997 are not covered by this distribution plan because their benefits are paid at the beginning of each month, regardless of the recipient’s birthdate.
What is the amount of my Social Security benefit?
Although the SSA offers official estimates that help people plan for retirement and have a general sense of the amounts they will receive, the amount of benefits varies amongst claimants.
For retirees filing individually in 2024, the average monthly payout will be $1,907, while for retired couples filing jointly, it will be $3,303. In the meantime, the average monthly benefit for SSI beneficiaries is $943 for single people and $1,415 for couples.
The Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), which is applied annually to Social Security payments, is a mechanism intended to keep benefits in line with inflation and prevent buying power loss during periods of high inflation. The COLA boosted payouts by 3.2% in 2024, and in October, the adjustment for 2025 will be made available.
On September 22, who will get $1,900 from Social Security?
As per the official distribution calendar and estimation table of the Social Security Administration, pensioners who were born between September 21 and September 31 will get an average payment of $1,900 on Wednesday, September 25, marking the completion of the payment delivery for the month of September.

During certain months, Social Security will send out two payments
The first of every month is when SSI funds are sent out, under the SSA’s payment schedule. On the other hand, payments are made early on the first working day in advance if the first day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.
Two payments are made in a single month as a result. This will occur in November and December, as it did in May and August.
On November 1st, the first SSI payment of the month is mailed. However, because December 1 falls on a Sunday, the SSI payment for that month is mailed on Friday, November 29.
December 1st is when the first SSI payment of the month is mailed. However, due to the holiday on January 1, 2025, the SSI payment for that month is being mailed on Tuesday, December 31.
