WPBN: A quadruple shooting at a baby shower in Hollywood early on Sunday morning left two individuals dead and two more injured; police are looking into the incident.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately one in the morning on Sunday at the Jaycee Hall parking lot close to Stan Goldman Park, which is located directly on Hollywood Boulevard and Interstate 95 South.
Officers discovered four gunshot victims when they arrived.
At the scene, one was declared dead. The second victim passed away after the three surviving victims were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. The names have not yet been made public by investigators.
At first, John Challenor believed the gunshots to be door knocks.
“I’m saying that’s odd. Knock knock again” Challenor stated. “I open the door and I hear it again — bang, bang, bang — come to find out it was a shooting.”
When the incident occurred, he was just down the street from the event location. According to the police, there was a fight shortly before the shooting. According to Jaycee Hall’s manager, Deborah Gronvold, it all took place at a baby shower.
“They just had it set up like a baby shower, so I don’t know understand why somebody would have gotten involved in a shooting,” she stated.
Crime tape is used to demarcate the location in the video. Despite having a number of people of interest, police have not yet made any arrests.
