2025 Kicks Off with Sunshine and Warmer-Than-Average Temperatures

High pressure is responsible for the calm, enjoyable stretch of weather in Arizona.

PHOENIX — The pleasant, calm weather streak continues.

Arizona will ring in the new year dry, under a partly cloudy sky. Midnight Valley temperatures will drop to the lower 50s. The Rim Country and White Mountains will fall into the lower 30s, and midnight temperatures in Northern Arizona will be in the lower 20s.

New Year’s Day in Arizona will feature more pleasant weather. Wednesday Valley highs will return to the lower 70s; the Rim Country will rebound to 60 degrees, and northern Arizona will reach the lower and middle 50s.

A ridge of high pressure will keep the calm stretch of weather in place all week, with climbing temperatures on Thursday and Friday.

There are signs that temperatures will drop closer to seasonal levels near the middle of next week.
