Authorities said that a 4-year-old California youngster was discovered safe after spending 22 hours by himself in the woods after straying from a campground in the Sierra National Forest.
Approximately fifty law enforcement personnel and volunteers assembled a search and rescue team at 11 a.m. on Thursday, following the child’s reported disappearance from the camping area encircled by thick forest to the north of Fresno.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the youngster, who is from Torrance, which is close to Los Angeles, was last seen wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
The youngster was found “nestled under a tree” close to a lake at approximately 8 a.m. on Friday. His family was staying at the Rancheria Campground approximately a quarter of a mile away.
“He was hungry and exhausted, but otherwise in good health. We got him a sandwich and then carried him out to be reunited with Mom and Dad,” the sheriff’s office stated.
