Resilient Jacksonville Man Drives to Hospital After Being Shot, Saves His Own Life

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received reports of a person being shot at 3100 West 16th Street.

A man in his mid-twenties was injured by a gunshot to his foot and took himself to a nearby hospital. The injuries are not considered life-threatening according to JSO.

Preliminary investigations by JSO reveal that the victim was shot while driving, and the assailant(s) were lying in wait to ambush him.

During the incident, a house with occupants was hit, resulting in a minor injury to an adult woman.

As of now, there are no descriptions available for the suspect(s).

Detectives specializing in violent crimes were present at the scene, seeking witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage. The investigation is still ongoing.
