72-Year-Old Man Loses Leg in Brutal Alligator Attack!

Brevard County Fire Rescue officials say that an alligator bit off the leg of a 72-year-old man in Florida on Friday afternoon.

The alligator attacked the man at the Great Outdoors RV resort in Titusville, Florida, just before 2 p.m. on Friday, according to a statement from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The guy, whose name was not given, was not hurt badly.

Don Walker, a spokesman for the county, said that the bite cut off the man’s leg just below the knee.

The injured guy was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center by helicopter, and an alligator trapper was sent to the scene, according to a statement from the FWC.

As of Friday evening, no details about what led up to the attack had been made public. The FWC is looking into what happened and is in charge of the situation.

The FWC said that alligators are more busy and easy to see in the spring and summer.

Residents are told by the FWC to stay away from alligators and to call the FWC if they have worries that could require a hired nuisance alligator trapper.
