FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Residents who were hurt by last week’s historic flooding are getting goods and food from the Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank.
Sunday morning, 7News cameras caught tables full of goods in the Big Lots parking lot on State Road 84.
Residents of Riverland and Edgewood said they were thankful as they continued to work on getting better.
“We were stuck in [my son’s] room for about four days and couldn’t leave. “Everything is flooded, and so are all the cars,” neighbor Paula Knight said. “We’re still trying to dry things out, and today’s sun is just a relief.”
Brittany Wolfe, who runs the Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank, said, “I think it’s a great blessing that we can help the community and get the diapers that are needed. We thank our sponsors and the news for being here to show what we’re doing today and just help as many people as we can.”
The Diaper Bank gave out everything from cleaning supplies and toiletries to food for pets and toilet paper.
