COOPER CITY, Fla. – The Florida Lottery said Monday that a guy from Broward County won $1 million after he bought a 500x The Cash scratch-off ticket at a Publix store.
Lottery officials say that Giovanni Salazar, 44, of Cooper City, recently went to the Lottery’s Miami District Office to receive his prize.
He decided to get a one-time payment of $820,000 as his prize.
Officials say that Salazar bought the winning ticket at the Cooper City Publix at 5656 S. Flamingo Road.
If the business sells the winning scratch-off ticket, it will get a bonus fee of $2,000.
“The $50 game 500X THE CASH has the best chances of making you a fortune right away. The top prize is $25 million, which is the most money that has ever been offered in a Florida Scratch-Off game. “The odds of winning the game are 1 in 4.50,” the Florida Lottery said in a news statement.
“Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s games. In fiscal year 2021-2022, they will make up about 77% of ticket sales. Scratch-Off games have given more than $17.69 billion to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) since they were first made.
