Shocking One-year-old Child Dies From Multiple Injuries - Arrests Made for Murder!

A one-year-old child who was taken to a local hospital with multiple serious injuries died four days later. This led to the arrest of Tracorvis Levon Strickland and Cornelia Pa’dreka Roberts on charges of murder and gross manslaughter.

On Sunday, April 9, 2023, the Florida Department of Children and Families asked police from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office to help with an investigation at a nearby hospital.

A one-year-old child who had been taken to the hospital with multiple serious injuries was the focus of the probe. The officers from the Special Assault Unit were also called in to do their initial probe.

According to JSO, the next day, when hospital staff saw how bad the child’s injuries were, they called in members of JSO’s Homicide Unit to work with the original SAU officers on the case.

Unfortunately, the victim died of his injuries four days after being taken to the hospital. This was confirmed by medical workers.

During the investigation, officers looked at the proof they already had and talked to people who might have seen the child.

Through their investigation, they found that 39-year-old Tracorvis Levon Strickland was the most likely person to have killed the child. Detectives got a warrant for Strickland’s arrest, and on April 15, 2023, they found him and arrested him for murder and aggravated child abuse.

Cornelia Pa’dreka Roberts, who was 21 years old, was taken into custody after more questions were asked. Roberts was charged with Aggravated Manslaughter after an interview, and he was taken to the Pretrial Detention Facility.
