Former Rock Musician Arrested Following the Unearthing of Human Remains Tied to Missing Girlfriend

A rock musician from the past got arrested for serious charges related to the death of his girlfriend. The police found human remains in a wooded area in California. The musician, Theobald “Theo” Lengyel, aged 54, was taken into custody on Tuesday.

His girlfriend, Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann, aged 61, went missing on December 3 in Santa Cruz. Her family reported her missing on December 12.

The police suspected foul play and considered Lengyel as a suspect.

They discovered Herrmann’s car in front of Lengyel’s home in El Cerrito. Lengyel, who was not cooperative with the investigation, was known to have traveled from El Cerrito to Portland, Oregon, after her disappearance.

Lengyel, a former member of the funk-metal band Mr. Bungle, played saxophone, clarinet, and keyboards for the group from 1985 to the mid-1990s.

Human remains were found in a wooded area in Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, around 4 miles from El Cerrito. The identity of the remains is pending DNA confirmation from the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office.

The police did not provide details about the cause of death.
