Breaking News Duval County Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene Set to Retire Amid Controversy!

Ben Becker of Action News Jax has heard from sources that since last week, lawyers for Duval County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene and the City of Jacksonville Office of General Counsel have been discussing the terms of a split deal.

It could mean that Greene will retire early and leave the district. On Friday, the school board will hold a special meeting to talk about her. Greene has been criticized because of what happened with the Douglas Anderson teacher.

Becker has also heard that Greene is in the Florida Department of Management Services Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) and is already set to leave on June 30, 2025, when her current contract ends.

Greene has hired Hank Coxe, a well-known defense lawyer in Jacksonville who was also the President of the Florida Bar. Becker has tried to talk to Coxe many times by calling and texting him, but he hasn’t answered.

On Wednesday, the school board will have a special meeting, and School Board Chairwoman Dr. Kelly Coker said that the problems with how incidents are reported will be one of the things they will talk about.

Meghan Moriarty from Action News Jax will be at the special Duval County School Board meeting that starts at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. She will report on the latest news at 5 p.m. on CBS47 and FOX30 Action News Jax.
