After a confrontation at a Central Florida school, Tampa Police arrested three students, two non-students, and one employee. The Hillsborough County Public Schools employee assisted two 18-year-olds in entering the school during the incident.
On February 29th, around 8:39 am, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Chamberlain High School and additional Tampa Police officers responded to a physical altercation in the school’s main hallway. With the help of school security, the officers quickly resolved the dispute.
The physical altercation involved two non-students, 18-year-old Jordan Ford and 19-year-old Stanley Louissaint, along with three students.
All five individuals were taken into custody at the scene and are facing multiple charges. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the dispute was connected to an off-campus disagreement.
The employee, 40-year-old Jynessa Brown, from Hillsborough County Public Schools, assisted Ford and Louissaint in gaining entry to the school. At the time of the incident, she was off-duty but in full uniform.
Following the incident, officers apprehended Brown at her residence. She faces charges including one felony count of Child Abuse, one misdemeanor count of Disrupting School Campus or Function, and one misdemeanor count of Trespass Upon School Grounds.
Local law enforcement ensured additional officers were present during dismissal to guarantee the safety of students and staff.
