Authorities in Pennsylvania reported that a horrific house fire on Wednesday claimed the lives of four small children and one adult.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office listed the victims as follows: a 1-month-old girl named Korbyn John; a 3-year-old boy named Keagan John; a 6-year-old girl named Kinzleigh John; a 7-year-old boy named Kyson John; and a 27-year-old male named Tyler King.
According to fire officials and the coroner, the fire was discovered shortly after midnight at a house near Jeanette, which is approximately thirty miles outside of Pittsburgh. The fire completely destroyed the property.
Firefighters informed reporters that three individuals had been rescued: a parent and two children.
According to Pittsburgh ABC affiliate WTAE, neighbor Jack Mull assisted in saving the mother and her two kids.
“I ran over to try to get in downstairs but it was just too hot, too many flames,” he stated. “I run in the backyard here, and I grabbed the ladder, went over. And the mother, Miranda, she was on the roof on the back side. So I went to try to help her with the baby.”
