Three African American siblings from Maryland are about to make history by becoming the youngest CEOs in the state’s history, which is a ground-breaking accomplishment.
Meet the Smith sisters, Tatiyana, age 5, Danyelle, age 8, and Jyniah, age 10, whose innovative mindset and entrepreneurial passion are transforming the youth business scene.
These extraordinary young people, who are participants in G1 Investment, LLC’s Youth Investment Program (YIPs1), have embraced the core values of turning aspirations into concrete realities that will likely result in long-term success.
On May 6, 2024, at 10 a.m., the Charles County Chamber of Commerce and the Charles County Economic Development Department will host a Ribbon Cutting event to commemorate the extraordinary trip that was initially reported by Black Business.
Along with Commissioner Vice President Ralph Patterson, Commissioners Thomasina Coates and Gilbert Bowling, and Charles County Commissioner President Reuben B. Collins II Esq. will preside over the ceremony.
Jyniah Smith, the 10-year-old founder and CEO of Bakie Books, LLC, a manufacturer of desserts and beverages, is spearheading the initiative.
Recently, Jyniah and her team secured their first retail partnership with Selby’s Grab and Go restaurant.
Under the direction of Chef Kendall Selby, who received training abroad, their delicious creation, the “Bakie,” is sure to tantalize taste buds with layers of fudgy chocolate brownies, vanilla cake, chocolate chip cookies, and creamy vanilla glaze that are too good to resist.

Tatiyana Smith, 5, is creating waves in the meantime with her beverage production company, Ezee Peezy, LLC, which is poised to take on major players in the market.
With a cool selection of “Ezee” varieties like Fruit Punch, Grape, Lemon Blast, and Blackberry, Tatiyana’s business acumen is already causing a stir in the cutthroat beverage industry.
Behind the scenes, 8-year-old Danyelle LaShay Smith is the creative brains behind D-LaShay Productions, a rapidly growing media company that specializes in graphic design, editing, and video production.
Danyelle’s goal of opening a sizable broadcast media studio devoted to providing young people with inspiring and inspirational programming is sure to make a lasting impression on the media landscape.
When these three incredible siblings come together, they are not only shattering stereotypes about juvenile creativity and the transforming potential of meaningful investments in young brains, but they are also breaking down barriers.
