Identified: Bodies of Missing Surfers Found in Baja California

Three individuals who vanished in Baja California have their bodies identified by family members, according to the state attorney general of Mexico.

The bodies were discovered in a lonely well in La Bocana, Baja California, and were identified by Mexican officials as belonging to American Jack Carter Rhoads and his Australian brothers, Jake and Callum Robinson.

The trio of surfers, who were on holiday in Baja California, vanished on April 27 after they failed to show up at their Rosarito, Mexico AirBnB as scheduled, and Callum did not show up for work in San Diego the following Monday.

Four bodies were discovered in the well, according to officials, although they thought they were from unconnected incidents.

The Ensenada medical examiner’s office reported on Friday that the three males had all died from gunshot wounds to the head.

Two brothers and a lady who was romantically associated with one of them had already been taken into custody by the authorities as part of the inquiry into the deaths.

Authorities stated that they think the Robinsons and Rhoads were trying to stop their pickup truck from being stolen when they were slain.

The defendants shot the visitors, according to Baja California prosecutors, because they wanted the tires off the car.

The location of the bodies, Ensenada, is roughly 75 miles south of the border between the United States and Mexico. Because of the waves, it has drawn the attention of surfers and is thought to be safer for visitors.

Baja California has remained a popular tourist destination despite an upsurge in violence as local drug gangs compete for control of the territory.
