Massachusetts Man Stabs Six in Violent Attacks at AMC Theater and McDonald's

Six individuals, including four girls at a movie theater, were stabbed in separate incidents that state and local investigators believe may be related. A Massachusetts man was brought into custody as a result.

According to authorities, the four females were stabbed on Saturday night in Braintree, a community located around 13 miles south of Boston, after a “unprovoked” incident at a movie theater.

The girls, who were between the ages of 9 and 17, were taken to Boston hospitals after receiving non-life-threatening medical attention on the scene.

An hour later, at a McDonald’s in Plymouth, a seaside town about 27 miles southeast of Braintree, a woman, 21, and a man, 29, were stabbed, according to Massachusetts State Police. The two victims’ injuries were not life-threatening, so they were taken to local hospitals.

Police in Braintree stated that although though the two incidents took place in different locations, it “appears as though the crimes are related.”

According to Braintree police, after identifying the suspect’s vehicle, state police chased it until it crashed in Sandwich, around 45 miles southeast of Braintree.

After being placed under arrest, the motorist was transferred to a hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening wounds, according to the authorities.

The suspect has been named as Chilmark resident Jared Ravizza, 26, according to a Sunday announcement from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday, Ravizza is scheduled to appear in Plymouth District Court on a number of charges, which include two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and assault with the intent to murder.

At approximately six o’clock on Saturday night, the man entered the AMC Braintree 10, pushed through the ticket booth without paying, and went into one of the theaters, according to the police. “Without saying anything and without any warning, he suddenly attacked and stabbed the four young females,” said the police.

According to authorities, the individual then left the theater and departed in a black SUV. After watching security footage, authorities were able to follow his activities and even obtained the license plate of the car.

A moviegoer named Mateo Rojas said to Boston25 news, “They looked like they just saw a horror movie and not a kid’s movie.”

Police in Massachusetts discover a suspicious car in a different city

According to authorities, an assault in Plymouth was allegedly carried out by a car that fit their description.

According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, multiple calls regarding a stabbing incident involving two employees and McDonald’s were received by Massachusetts State Police at approximately 7 p.m. Ravizza was seen on surveillance tape allegedly stabbing the male victim with a huge knife while he was reaching through the drive-thru window of McDonald’s.

The county district attorney’s office alleged that after seeing Ravizza exit the drive-thru and park his car, he entered the McDonald’s and stabbed the second female victim.

After that, Ravizza left the area, and state troopers found his car in Sandwich, according to state police. When the suspect’s car would not stop for the troopers’ attempts to pull it over, it crashed.

“Preliminary investigation suggests a likely connection to an earlier incident at a movie theatre in Braintree resulting in non-life threatening injuries to four juveniles,” the state police stated.
