Authorities said that multiple canines were hurt when a minivan full of 14 West Virginia puppy litters crashed into a utility pole and overturned in Connecticut early on Thursday morning.
The minivan crashed at approximately six in the morning in Woodstock, a rural hamlet bordering Massachusetts, with dogs of various types in kennels in the back, according to fire officials.
Despite falling onto the van, electrical wires did not injure anyone.

A veterinarian checked some of the puppies, but the driver was not gravely injured. One dog had to be put to sleep, according to fire officials, while several others were rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital in Massachusetts.
The majority of the puppies were taken to an animal shelter in the area.
The accident’s cause was being looked into. The minivan driver was taking the puppies from a West Virginia animal shelter to new homes in the area, according to Fire Chief Eric Young.
“The driver was obviously shaken up by the accident,” Young stated. “He was beating himself up about it.”
According to Young, several first responders were hesitant to check on the puppies after the driver informed them that there were any in the rear because they didn’t want to witness any pets being injured. While he claimed that most of the puppies appeared to be in good health, a few of the crates had damage.
After being evaluated, the puppies will go to their new homes, according to officials.
