Customers of Georgia Power are facing two increases this summer: the 5% rise that took effect on May 1st, when plant Vogtle’s fourth unit went online, and the higher price of cooling your home.
“Just trying to make sure we keep the shades drawn, make sure we’re not opening and closing doors,” Cobb County resident Leslie Arrowsmith stated.
The rate increase for the typical household is around nine dollars higher each month, according to Georgia Power Spokesperson John Kraft.
