After her infant passed away from being left in a hot car, a mom in North Carolina is accused of involuntary manslaughter, according to the police.
The eight-year-old girl was discovered in serious condition in a car in Charlotte on Wednesday night; she was taken to a nearby hospital, but the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports that she eventually passed away from a medical issue due to the heat.
The mother of the kid was accused of both intentional child abuse resulting in significant injury and involuntary manslaughter. According to jail records, the 36-year-old woman is being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
An arrest complaint states that the mother admitted to authorities that she had left her daughter in the car while she went to work. She claimed to have kept the car’s air conditioning on before she left, but it’s possible that the youngster switched it off because she was feeling cold.
About an hour and a half before she got back in the car, the lady last communicated with her daughter over text, according to the authorities. That’s when she found the toddler, unconscious, laying on the backseat floorboard.

Police claimed the woman broke the back window with a hammer to get to her daughter. After that, she drove to the hospital but, according to officials, stopped at a nearby business to request assistance. According to officials, someone reported the situation by calling 911.
The girl was declared deceased early on Thursday morning after being transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center by emergency personnel.
According to the affidavit, the mother informed police that she knew it was 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34.4 degrees Celsius) outdoors and that she shouldn’t have left her infant in the car. Court documents state that a public defender was assigned to represent her. The date of her upcoming hearing is July 17.
According to the National Highway Safety Traffic Safety Administration, a child dies of heat stroke after being left in a car every ten days. Most of these deaths occur when someone forgets a youngster in the car. In the past thirty years, almost a thousand youngsters have passed away.
