WEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. – The individual who is suspected of shooting a man in the parking lot at Midway Crossings in West Miami-Dade on Thursday afternoon is currently the subject of an active manhunt by the authorities.
The culprit is thought to be a Caucasian male of a slight build, according to the police. After the altercation, the suspect made his getaway in a red vehicle and drove off in the direction of the south.
7Skyforce flew over the incident, which took place in the 7000 block of West Flagler Street and was characterized by the presence of caution tape and law enforcement officers in the parking lot.
The patient was taken in an ambulance to the HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. It is not known what his condition is.
“Two people were arguing with one another when one of the individuals presented a firearm and shot at the other individual,” said Detective Luis Sierra of the Miami-Dade Police Department.
A large number of people were there to see what took place.
A witness added in Spanish, “The man stepped out of a Corolla and pulled out a gun,” describing what happened after the suspect left the vehicle. “He began firing his gun at another individual who was fleeing the scene. He said, ‘I’m going to murder him.'”
Shell casings were discovered by detectives in multiple locations around the crime site.
The person who opened fire has not yet been captured.
Anyone who witnessed what took place or has information about the suspect’s whereabouts is being urged by the police to come forward and get in touch with the appropriate authorities as soon as possible.
