During the Fourth of July weekend, a man is suspected of shooting and killing his ex-stepfather at a mansion. As of Sunday, according to internet records, Darien Massad Turner, 23, is incarcerated at the Broward County jail in Florida.
According to reports, Christian Colon, his 44-year-old ex-stepfather, was found dead from gunshot wounds at the residence by police.
According to Fox Miami station WSVN, police said they received a call about the gunshot at the house on the 100 block of Nurmi Drive at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Saturday. The publication said that there are several multimillion dollar residences in the neighborhood.
Local employee Jesus Sarmiento is said to have said that the shooting was not typical of the area.

Raul Fernandez, who was visiting the neighborhood, said to NBC Miami affiliate WTVJ, “I heard someone got, like, shot. [This is] some Miami Vice-type stuff. This is not something I’d ever expect. I don’t know how to take something like this.”
“We have kids over there,” he stated. “We have little kids. Just to know someone got shot, it’s like, wow.”
Turner is accused of planning to kill someone. Police did not provide a timeline of events or a motive for the shooting right away. There is no way to access the arrest affidavit online.
