Seyeddah “Zahra” Hashemi was shot in the face by Ladarius Morshun Brownlee, according to Texas police, leaving her alive but critically injured.
Brownlee is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Hashemi, the man who made popular videos on TikTok chronicling his romantic life and relationship with his girlfriend.
The shooting happened on July 5 at about one in the morning, according to a Facebook statement from the police. According to Denton County jail records, Brownlee also faces three charges of fatal misconduct – discharge firearm.
As of Thursday, the Northlake, Texas, resident was still being held under arrest with a $900,00 bond. It’s not apparent if he has hired legal counsel.
Brownlee admitted to shooting Hashemi during the July 5 911 call that prompted police to arrive, according to local ABC station WFAA.
Following what was reported to be a “heated argument,” the woman was shot in the face, just above her right eye. Witnesses reportedly told that the pair was fighting as they left an Independence Day celebration in Bakersfield Park in Flower Mound.
After the pair allegedly got into a physical dispute before getting into their car, Brownlee allegedly stopped the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer SUV he was driving less than three miles from the park and shot Hashemi after pointing the gun at those riding in the back seat, according to the police.

According to the authorities, Hashemi was taken to a nearby hospital in Grapevine, Texas.
The pair created hundreds of videos with millions of views on TikTok by sharing content from an account they shared under the portmanteau “denoandzahra.” As of Thursday, they had a little over 155,000 followers.
