According to authorities, a suspected homeless lady abducted a 4-year-old daughter from a restaurant in California.

While enjoying lunch at a Panda Express restaurant with her 4-year-old granddaughter, a “frantic” grandmother called the Santa Monica Police Department at 12:11 p.m. local time, according to the department.

According to officials, police arrived “within minutes” and began frantically looking for the missing child.

Authorities started deploying more units to the general vicinity of the restaurant as soon as they had video pictures of possible suspects.

According to the police, the suspect was being sought after by over thirty law enforcement officials. The culprit, a heavyset white woman in her 30s, was identified by the video footage.

Officers found the suspect and child in a Holiday Motel room at 12:37 p.m.

“Thankfully, the child was unharmed, and the suspect was taken into custody,” police stated.

“No stone was left unturned” in the police probe, they claimed.

“Our heartfelt best wishes go out to the child and her family as they deal with the shock of this ordeal,” police stated. “We will do everything we can to make sure they are helped through this time and also to make sure no stone is left unturned in the investigation.”

She was detained on suspicion of kidnapping, according to the authorities, who did not immediately disclose the suspect’s identity.

The 73-year-old woman was beaten by a homeless guy in May, which precedes the alleged kidnapping.

As she attempted to move aside to allow him to pass while out for her regular morning stroll, the woman said that “he intentionally pushed her to the ground,” cutting her hands and injuring her back, according to the police.

A homeless man was detained almost a week prior for allegedly attempting to rape a female jogger. A local in Santa Monica expressed that the formerly picturesque seaside community is “not what it was.”
