On Thursday, after the driver of a stolen car punched the gas and collided with two police cars, officers shot a suspect inside the car. According to Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia, the incident happened after the car was located by undercover cops at an apartment building off Golf Lakes Trail in northeast Dallas.
Garcia stated, “At one point, officers fired their weapons at an armed suspect,” adding that there were four suspects within the car.
After being hit, one of the suspects needed to be sent to a nearby hospital, where authorities indicated he has a good chance of surviving. One of the two other suspects, who was hurt, was transferred to a nearby hospital after being placed under arrest. The status of that suspect is still stable.
A fourth suspect who left the area is being actively sought by the police. At around 1 p.m., Michelle Gonzalez heard a crash and rushed outside her apartment. “It’s definitely a scary situation,” she added.
“There were like four or five cops running out this way, shooting out,” Gonzalez stated.
Authorities stated that they had discovered three weapons from the scene. An active Dallas murder warrant sought one of the apprehended individuals, who has not yet been named.

“I saw them shooting,” Gonzalez stated. “I have my two kids at home and so that shook me.”
According to Gonzalez, she returned to her apartment to make sure her kids were safe and not “around the windows or anything.”
Ishmael Kendrex, a resident of the condominium, remarked, “It was like something out of a movie really. I wasn’t expecting to wake up this afternoon and see all the cops looking like that.”
Garcia promised the publication of more details soon.
“It was definitely one experience that I never want to see again,” Gonzalez stated.
