Deputies in Bay County, Florida, said that 37-year-old Tiffany April Leigh Braddock was discovered wandering along a highway on Wednesday, two days after she fatally stabbed her elderly mother, Elizabeth Braddock, and left her body on a recliner at home.

“The defendant stated she did not have remorse and was laughing while describing how she murdered the victim,” authorities stated.

As per the probable cause affidavit and a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office, Tiffany Braddock was observed strolling down Highway 231, on Wednesday. According to reports, she was “ā€œspeaking to herself and swinging her arms around.”

The defendant replied that she wasn’t doing well since she had done a bad thing when Deputy Jackson asked how she was doing, according to the authorities’ documents. Murder, Braddock supposedly claimed, was that horrible thing.

She provided the sheriff’s office with her home address. In order to conduct a welfare check on the mother, Elizabeth Braddock, 73, another deputy showed up.

“Deputy Foster observed the front door to be cracked open with the victim sitting in a recliner deceased with multiple stab wounds,” the affidavit stated.

Defendant Braddock purportedly stated after Miranda that she had stabbed her mother on Monday with a hunting knife.

“The defendant then stated she did not believe the victim to be deceased so she stabbed the victim several more times,” they stated.

According to her account, the knife was in her bedroom at home, resting on a folding table. During the execution of a search warrant, deputies said they discovered it.

“The defendant stated she murdered her mother due to the fact the mother was abusive towards her,” deputies stated. “The defendant stated the victim was abusive due to the victim using curses on her, but did not define any form of physical violence.”

According to reports, Braddock said that she could no longer bear to live with her mother and that she had been plotting her murder for two years, calling it “premeditated.”

Documents indicate Braddock is incarcerated right now. Her initial court appearance took place on Thursday, and her arraignment is set for September 12.
