After a 244-day coma that nearly killed him, a 30-year-old Florida man’s organs were removed by physicians. However, the guy survived the experience only to be killed by a pickup vehicle.
In 2017, just a few days shy of turning 23, Drew Kohn was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him in a deep coma with a traumatic brain injury. Amazingly, he awoke eight months later.
“They would have harvested his organs,” his mother, Yolanda Osborne-Kohn stated. “It was because of my faith that gave me the boldness to speak up and push back and let them know, ‘You’re not getting a toenail or an eyelash.'”
She claimed that at one time her son was even brain dead, but she refused to give up. Drew was sent home while still unconscious, but his mother’s faith was answered in a miraculous way.
He is said to have assured his shocked mother, “Yeah mom, I’m OK,” one day. “Mom, I love you.” Drew was hailed as a modern-day miracle when he was able to walk again following years of arduous rehabilitation.
Drew was struck by a pickup truck on Friday morning about 5:30 a.m. while strolling on Collins Road in Jacksonville, bringing this heartbreaking miracle to an abrupt end, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
It was too late when the car pulled over and dialed 911 after telling police he hadn’t seen Drew. At the scene, he was declared deceased. Osborne-Kohn expressed her gratitude for the seven years she spent with her son, even if it was heartbreaking.

“God honored my request, and I’m not mad. I’m not angry. I’m at peace,” she stated. “I got seven years and like Hezekiah who turned his face to the wall, I remember sitting on Drew’s hospital bed and saying to myself, ‘Thy will be done.'”
She expressed her belief that her son is no longer suffering and is now in heaven.
“Drew is healed, walking, not struggling to keep his balance,” she stated. “His arm is probably lifted so high saying ‘Thank you, Jesus!’ Drew probably has a football in one hand and a Bible in the other.”
