Authorities say that a man from Connecticut confessed to killing his 80-year-old father earlier this month in a very unsettling way.
According to jail records, 31-year-old Steven James Uricchio is charged with one count of murder, a class A felony. In the Nutmeg State, capital murder is only applied to a select few, uncommon crimes. The offender in this instance might spend anywhere from 25 to 60 years in prison.
The defendant allegedly killed his father severely over the weekend during a domestic violence dispute, confessed to the police over the phone, and then called 911.
Police were called to 27 Powderhorn Drive in Ridgefield, a medium-sized hamlet on the New York State line, in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, at around one in the morning on Saturday.
Officers discovered Marc Uricchio, 83, inside the home; paramedics declared him dead there, according to the police.
According to Ridgefield Police Department spokesperson Jeff Raines, the initial press release depicted the crime scene in a relatively sanitized manner as the scene of a “domestic incident” and stated that investigators “determined that an elderly male was deceased inside the residence”.
When the defendant showed up in court on Monday, far more graphic information about the killing were revealed by the police report.
Uricchio declared, ‘I murdered him.’ After pausing, Uricchio said, “really, really badly,” according to an affidavit and arrest report that News 12 Connecticut, was able to get.
According to a police report obtained by the Norwalk daily The Hour, arriving officers discovered the defendant outside the residence with his hands already raised. Officers found the man, down on the pavement, to be constantly perspiring and to have blood on his hands. He then gave the police directions to his father’s whereabouts.
It was said that drops of blood guided the way.
According to investigators, the older Uricchio was discovered in his bedroom upstairs. The man’s body was facing the doorway while it lay on the ground. According to the authorities, there was blood on both sides of the wall. Outside the bedroom door at the top of the stairs was a bloody fish filleting knife.
It did not take long to determine the cause of the distinctive carmine stains.
Police reported, “The victim’s face, lower torso/abdomen, and groin were mutilated. What appeared to be internal organs from the above-mentioned areas were on the outside of the body.”
Without any problems, the younger Uricchio was taken into custody and accused.
He refused to enter a plea at his arraignment, according to The Hour. The defendant had to be brought inside the courthouse. The News-Times, a Danbury newspaper, said that once he was seated next to his lawyer, he leaned forward over the defense table and tried to stay there.

The requests were approved by the judge.
According to police, the defendant was seen by physicians and admitted to the hospital over the weekend for issues with his stomach. He claimed to have been given medication, but he hadn’t used it “in a month or two.” He also acknowledged that he occasionally used marijuana.
Later, the attorney for the accused murderer adopted a philosophical stance. On September 4, Steven Uricchio is scheduled to return to court.
