Man Shot in Chest, Crashes Car, Dies on Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Boulevard

According to authorities, a guy was shot in the chest and died after crashing on Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting and collision took place in the city’s Hunting Park area on Wednesday at approximately 12:45 p.m. An area around West Roosevelt Boulevard and Old York Road saw gunfire, to which police responded.

A man in his late 30s was discovered with a gunshot wound to his chest in the driver’s seat of a silver Honda CR-V, according to the police. After being taken to a local hospital, he passed away there.

According to the police, the man’s Honda collided with the median and another vehicle when he was traveling north on the boulevard.

According to the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management, all lanes on U.S. Route 1 between Broad Street and North 9th Street were blocked during the police investigation, but they have since been reopened. No firearms have been found, according to police, and no arrests have been made.
