Esperance Lumineska Fuerzina has the record for the most tattoos and body alterations in history, with 89 and 99.98% of her body covered in ink.

The 36-year-old Army veteran from Bridgeport, USA, transformed her body into a moving canvas that follows the theme of “turning darkness into beauty” by decorating it from head to toe with gorgeous motifs.

Her tattoos cover her hands and feet, the scalp, and particularly sensitive regions like her tongue, gums, sclerae (the white outer layer of the eyeballs), and genitals.

On September 22, 2023, her first record was certified in Tijuana, Mexico, as the most tattooed person (female).

“I grew up admiring the Guinness World Records books and record holders as a child, and I am blown away to be featured in one now,” she remarked, proudly displaying her actual Guinness World Records certificate. “I am so grateful.”

In 2017, the Florida-born tattoo aficionado was named the world’s most tattooed lady, with 98.75% of her flesh covered in ink and elaborate designs.

She also uses meditation to cope with the discomfort from her heavy tattooing sessions. Esperance took her first step into the field of body modifications at the age of 21 with a small sign related to her first partner’s family.

Although the first drawing on her left hip was swiftly covered up by her third tattoo, a bright and majestic phoenix, it inspired a passion that has remained with Esperance ever since.

She realized immediately away that she loved tattoos and wanted more of them.

Furthermore, with 89 bodily alterations, she beat the previous record for the most body modifications (female), which had stood for more than a decade.

Esperance won the championship with 40 more body mods than the previous champion, Mexican Maria José Cristerna, who set the record in 2012 with 49 body mods and substantial tattoo coverage.

Esperance’s first bodily modification, a split tongue, occurred in 2014.

Ten years and two world records later, Esperance’s amazing body modifications span from “classic” body piercings to more innovative alterations, such as tissue-stretching mods and tattoos on her eyeballs and gums.

Some of her most delicate parts have also been altered, with 18 genital piercings and inner labia stained with ink injections.
