The police are searching for suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at an auto body shop in Liberty City on Tuesday morning. The victim, identified as the owner of the shop by his friends, was found injured and unresponsive at the scene.
According to Miami Police detectives, the incident occurred before 11 a.m. at the address of Perfect Auto Paint & Body Shop and Perfect Motor Sports, located at 7455 NW Seventh Ave.
Despite an immediate response from the City of Miami Fire Rescue to provide life-saving measures, the victim, identified as 46-year-old Nader Aweidah, was pronounced dead at the scene.
State records indicate that Perfect Auto Body, managed by Nader Nabil Aweidah, has been registered with the state since 1989.
Friends of Aweidah, referring to him as “Bubba,” revealed that he was not only the owner of the auto body shop but also a nearby grocery store. Described as a loving father and a great business owner, Aweidah was highly regarded in the community.
“He was just a great man, he looked out for the community. He did whatever he could for people,” one friend shared with NBC Miami. “He was a loving father, a great business owner, and it’s just a sad story.”
Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department addressed the media near the crime scene, stating that the victim was a known and respected individual within the community. She expressed her frustration, calling the shooting another senseless act that needs to come to an end.
