On Wednesday, the lucky winner of a large reward from the recent Lucky 4 Life lottery in northeast Kansas came forward.

27 News learned on September 3 that a lottery player in northeast Kansas had won big in the Lucky 4 Life game and spoke with Cory Thone, a spokesman for the Kansas Lottery, about it.

The player received a lump sum payment of $390,000 or a lifetime benefit of $25,000 per year, even though this award wasn’t the highest payout for the game.

After receiving the lucky ticket on September 4, the player didn’t hesitate to claim the prize. The lucky ball for this drawing was number 17, and the winning numbers were 17-22-27-35-42.

“The winner did come in to claim their prize yesterday!” Thone stated. “They have not decided yet whether they want to take the $390,000 lump sum option or the $25,000 a year for life option, and they have 60 days to make that decision.”

The winner, according to Thone, was “incredibly excited and appreciative” to receive the money but opted to stay nameless. The Gas N Shop gas station located at 1900 Northwest Topeka Boulevard is now qualified to receive a $1,000 prize for selling the ticket.

The Lucky 4 Life game offers a top prize of $1,000 per day for life, with the potential to win $5.7 million in cash. After state and federal taxes, the Topeka lottery winner’s winnings amount to $17,750 year, or $276,900 if they choose to take the cash option. Go here to find out more about Lucky 4 Life.
