A man from Southern California was found guilty of frequently abusing young children and received a 325-year prison sentence.
Ventura County District Attorney’s Office: On Tuesday, Jesus Andrew Sapien, 44, of Port Hueneme, was found guilty of sexually abusing three children and given a sentence.
The molestation was reported to detectives with the Port Hueneme Police Department in May 2020 by the mother of a 6-year-old girl. Authorities added that the little child told her mother that Sapien had abused her multiple times over several months.
Two more youngsters came forward as victims of Sapien’s repeated sexual abuse while the case was being investigated. According to police, Sapien had a family connection with the children who were harmed.
The Ventura County District Attorney who prosecuted the case, Benjamin Moreno, stated that “the defendant betrayed the trust of a close-knit family to commit unspeakable acts of sexual abuse against multiple children. Today’s sentence reflects the severity of those crimes.”
A jury found Sapien guilty on August 12 of 13 felony counts of performing indecent acts on a minor.
The three victims were under the age of 14, which made them susceptible. Sapien was also found to have engaged in significant sexual activity. Finally, he was found to have abused his position of trust. These particular charges were also found to be true.

He was given a sentence of 325 years to life in state prison on September 10.
“While nothing can undo the harm the defendant has caused, I hope this sentence provides the victims and their families the closure they so profoundly deserve and ensures that the defendant will never again harm a child,” Moreno stated.
