The tow truck driver who struck and killed a lady early on Saturday morning in Chicago’s South Loop is still wanted.
Giselle Chavez was the name given by the family on a GoFundMe page for the deceased woman. The collision occurred in the 100 block of West Roosevelt Road at 2:14 a.m. and left two other people—including the woman’s sister, Alexandra Chavez—critically injured, according to the Chicago Police Department.
At the scene of the crash, the victim’s friends The crash was declared to be unintentional on Saturday morning.
They claimed to have been together on Friday night as members of a truck club, spending roughly thirty minutes driving through the city before making a quick stop for dinner.
However, they claim that several members of their group departed in a second automobile after the sisters and a boyfriend left early in one car.
That’s when they say they were harassed around Roosevelt and Union by someone driving an unauthorized red or burgundy tow truck and purposefully colliding with their cars.
It’s said that the friends accelerated to leave. The sisters’ car lost control in the commotion, skidded across the road, crashed into a wall, and toppled a light pole.
According to Chicago police, the victim’s vehicle lost control and collided with a wall after the tow truck driver backed into an SUV. The three victims inside the car were forced out of it.
Additionally, according to friends of the victims, the police are searching for the driver utilizing video that they have of the incident. Northwestern Memorial Hospital received everyone.

Following a head injury, a 21-year-old lady was admitted to the hospital in severe condition and passed away shortly after. In addition to her 19-year-old boyfriend, who was critically injured, her 20-year-old sister also had head injuries.
“It’s devastating,” neighbor Matthew Bryja stated. “It is a very busy road. People drive fast. Especially along here.”
The driver of the SUV stayed on the site and assisted the authorities. The driver of the unidentified tow vehicle left the area.
