JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Surveillance video obtained by First Coast News reveals an incident in an Arlington neighborhood where a 23-year-old man was shot and left lying on the road. The victim, Dylonn Veneziale, was discovered deceased at the intersection of Alderman and Eddy Roads.
The shooting, which occurred on Monday night after 11:30 p.m., remains under investigation. The surveillance footage captures distinct popping sounds in the background, resembling gunshots.
According to Dylonn’s brother, he resided with a friend and battled with mental illness and addiction, which was a concern for the family. Brett Veneziale expressed that his brother had a passion for sports and possessed a compassionate nature towards his loved ones.
Recalling the heartbreaking scene, Brett Veneziale visited the intersection where Dylonn was found, attempting to piece together the events. The sight of the arrow indicating his brother’s location on the street, alone and vulnerable, deeply affected him as an older sibling responsible for his well-being.
Dylonn’s mother, too distraught to speak in person, expressed her regret for not being able to answer her son’s final call before the tragic shooting took place.
