After entering a guilty plea, a Washington couple who admitted to killing a teenager and made up the story that the victim had sold their daughter to a sex trafficking organization is anticipated to receive comparatively low terms.

For the 2020 murder of a 19-year-old male whose body was reportedly found after being left in a car for about a year, John Eisenman, 63, was taken into custody in November 2021.

Eisenman told police at the time of his arrest that the victim, whose identity the family has chosen to keep confidential, had sold Eisenman’s daughter to a sex trafficking organization in Seattle.

According to KREM, Kross entered a guilty plea to manslaughter and Eisenman entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder when they appeared in court on Thursday. She admitted in her declaration of guilt that there was no proof of sex trafficking.

According to Spokane police, Eisenman was arrested after learning that the victim would be in Airway Heights, a city less than ten miles west of Spokane, and waiting for him to show up before confronting him.

“During that encounter Eisenman abducted the victim, tying him up and placing him in the trunk of a vehicle,” police stated. “Eisenman subsequently assaulted the victim by hitting him in the head with a cinder block and then stabbed him repeatedly, causing his death.”

The body of the deceased was left in the car’s trunk, where it stayed for over a year. According to police, it was relocated to the northeast Spokane neighborhood of Hillyard in October 2021.

It was by accident that the body was found. According to authorities, “[I]ndividuals were searching the car and stealing things when they made the gory discovery.”

Eisenman was later apprehended after that car was linked to him, according to local CBS affiliate KREM.

According to court documents, Eisenman and Brooks will be sentenced on January 16. According to KREM, prosecutors have decided to seek comparatively low sentences for both; they will suggest a 22-year sentence for Eisenman and eight years in prison plus three years of community service for Kross.
