PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A driver who was involved in a collision in Port St. Lucie has passed away from his injuries four days later.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD), the incident occurred on June 24 when officers responded to a crash involving four vehicles at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Lennard Road around 6:15 p.m.
Reportedly, a black Camry traveling north on U.S. 1 collided with a white Mitsubishi SUV that was stationary in the left turn lane. The Camry then struck a black Jeep Cherokee, which in turn hit a gray Toyota Corolla.
The police mentioned that the 67-year-old male driver of the black Camry was taken to the hospital in critical condition, while the 28-year-old female driver of the white Mitsubishi sustained minor injuries. The other two drivers involved in the crash were unharmed.
On Wednesday afternoon, the police announced that the 67-year-old man had passed away at the hospital due to his injuries.
The investigation into the incident is currently active and ongoing.
