The weather is moderate at the start of Thanksgiving week, but by midweek, snow and colder temperatures are predicted, which might cause travel plans to be disrupted. With largely cloudy skies, today’s high will be close to 55 degrees, but there will be big changes soon.
The National Weather Service predicts lows of 43 degrees tonight along with showers and the possibility of patchy fog.
Temperatures will dip to the mid-20s tonight as cooler air comes in, but Monday will be windy with highs close to 45. Although snow may form late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, Tuesday starts out sunny with a high of about 39.
With a high of almost 41 degrees and forecasts for snow and rain on Wednesday, Thanksgiving travel may become dangerous. With a 40% probability of snow accumulation, nighttime lows will drop to the mid-20s.
During these times, drivers on I-74 and nearby roads should prepare for decreased visibility and slick conditions.
While Friday’s high barely makes it to 29 degrees due to the extreme cold, Thanksgiving Day will have partly sunny skies with a high of 35 degrees. Residents are advised to layer up and spend less time outside due to wind chills, which will make the weather feel much colder.

Due to the possibility of icy roads, drivers are recommended to keep an eye on revised forecasts, particularly throughout the middle of the week, and plan for slower travel.
Although the amount of snowfall is yet unknown, minor accumulations might cause roadways and walkways to become slick. By the weekend, be ready for the lowest temperatures of the season, and keep an eye on local weather reports for any changes.
