Presenting Bonzo, a 4-year-old 10-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. This charming man, who was saved from a depressing hoarding case, will require more affection.
Whatever happened to Bonzo left him feeling very timid and afraid, but no additional details were provided. He is currently in a foster home, safe, thanks to Great Dog Rescue New England.
According to His foster: “Bonzo is very sweet but also very shy/scared after his previous living conditions. He wants to be loved but is unsure about people. We’re working with him on understanding what it means to be loved and feel safe. He is fine when we hold him, but doesn’t necessarily understand what it means when we pet him. Poor guy – he doesn’t realize what he’s missing out on! It seems as though he likes to have another small dog with him to help build his confidence and make him feel safe. He hasn’t spent time with big dogs, but he does like to play! We know he’s a little love, and is just a shy guy who will need a patient person / family to let him adjust at his own speed.”
At the time of adoption, all dogs have received their most recent vaccines and have been spayed or neutered. Professional training is necessary for all dogs to develop into the ideal family members.

Consider fostering as a significant additional way to contribute! Fosters are never able to accommodate all of the needs of the needy pups. Their official website has a fostering section with further details about fostering with Great Dog Rescue New England.
