Ohio Man Accused of Threatening and Exploiting Minors on Social Media, Indicted in South Carolina

After being charged with threatening and abusing children on social media, a guy from Ohio was indicted in South Carolina.

Columbus, Ohio resident Jack Keegan Davis, 21, was charged with six counts of producing, distributing, and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), coercing and enticing children, and cyberstalking.

The accusation alleges that from August 2022 until October of this year, Davis pretended to be a kid in order to engage with other minors. He allegedly produced child sexual abuse content and encouraged kids to engage in sexual activity by using at least four social media platforms and 130 social media display identities.

In several jurisdictions, including South Carolina, Davis is accused of having child victims.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Davis also obtained, owned, and shared some of the content with other children, including one of his victims’ classmates.

At least one victim and their family were allegedly harassed and threatened by Davis using that material. After a no-contact order was placed on him and a restraining order was filed, he kept getting in touch with them.

One minor and their family were allegedly threatened with the words, “I’m going to kill [Victim] and [Victim’s] family,” “[Victim] ur dead,” “I’m going to f***ing kill [Victim],” “I am not kidding I am going to kill [Victim] and [Victim’s] family,” “If [Victim] doesn’t answer me I’m going to [Victim’s] house,” and ‘I won’t stop until you’re dead.”

Davis provided the victim’s home address, according to officials, and promised to be there while the minor’s father was out of town. He allegedly wrote, “lol, I just want [Victim] to suffer,” to that individual.

Agents from the FBI took Davis into custody in the Southern District of Ohio. He was taken by the U.S. Marshals to South Carolina, where he was placed under arrest for trial by United States Magistrate Judge Paige J. Gossett in Columbia.

The FBI Columbia Field Office, the Franklin County, Ohio, and Kershaw County, South Carolina, sheriff’s offices, as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, all contributed significantly to the investigation of the case.

The case will be presided upon by United States District Judge Joseph F. Anderson, with prosecutors Elliott B. Daniels and Ariyana N. Gore.
