Ariana Grande and her grandma, Marjorie “Nonna” Grande, are experiencing the enchantment of “Wicked.”
With her Nonna, who turned 99 in October, the singer and actress, who plays Glinda the Good in the film “Wicked,” stopped by her birthplace of Boca Raton, Florida, on Monday to watch the film.
On her Instagram Stories, Grande posted a picture of herself seated next to her brother Frankie and grandmother in a dark movie theater with the caption, “Flew to Boca for a day to watch with Nonna.”
Grande also mentioned that they watched the movie at “the movie theater I grew up going to every weekend.” She also thanked her boyfriend, Ethan Slater, who plays Boq in the film, for taking the picture.
Additionally, she posted a video of her Nonna grinning as she watched Grande’s musical routine “Popular” on the big screen.
“Thrilled to report when the sugar glider had her drum solo nonna exclaimed loudly ‘oh i LOVE that,'” the Grammy-winner stated.
According to the music charting website, Grande’s Nonna made history in March when, at the age of 98, she became the oldest musician to ever appear on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Nonna was mentioned as a featured musician on Grande’s song “Ordinary Things.” At No. 55 on the chart, the song made its debut.

In “Wicked,” the film adaptation of the well-known Broadway musical that tells the story of events in Oz prior to Dorothy’s arrival, Grande co-stars with Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba.
The film, which was directed by Jon M. Chu, opened in theaters on Friday and made an estimated $162 million on its first weekend of release globally. Additionally, it surpassed “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Inside Out 2” to become the third highest-grossing opening weekend of 2024.
