WPBN: A week after Jayna Lang, 46, vanished in Colorado on November 24, her body was found.
About an hour from her Littleton home, she texted her brother, Eric Horvat, to let him know she was heading to Silverthorne, an outlet mall, to shop.
However, her boss contacted her family the following week when she failed to report for work. Authorities revealed the heartbreaking discovery on Monday, following a week-long search and an appeal from loved ones and police.
A relative told KDVR that Jayna was found deceased on Sunday night.
The U.S. Sun was informed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office that she committed suicide, describing it as a “sad update.”
The Disappearance of Jayna
At 11:17 a.m. on November 24, Jayna texted her brother about going to the mall, marking the last time she was heard from. When she went missing, her brother stated, “She was supposed to be going to Silverthorne to look at the factory shops on Sunday.”
“Her job called us and said she didn’t show up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and now nobody has heard from her, talked to her or anything.”
According to Eric, her disappearance was unusual because she had not been in contact with her aunt, with whom she often spoke daily.
Jayna’s sister-in-law stated that, “We were notified tonight with the not good news regarding my sister-in-law Jayna. We want to send all the thanks & appreciation to everyone nationwide for the love & prayers during this horrible time.”
The Park County Sheriff’s Office shared pictures of Jayna and her SUV on Facebook on November 27 after they alerted the police, asking anyone who spotted her to phone them.
Jayna’s love of the outdoors and visiting the mountains was recognized by the agency and her family.
Car Located
There was a time when police received a tip that her SUV was being driven from Breckenridge to Keystone along the neighboring Highway 6. Her family became concerned that she had either crashed or broken down and was now stranded on the road.
On December 1, the search ended tragically, and the following day, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office verified that she had been located.
Before police made their statement regarding Jayna’s death, her family had alluded to the tragic news in a post.
