The Altamonte Springs Police Department recently released an edited report about a tragic event that occurred on Monday night, which involved a murder-suicide.
On Wednesday, the department disclosed that when officers arrived at the scene, an unidentified third individual was present. She claimed to be a friend, but there is no information available regarding her whereabouts during the shooting.
On Monday, police were observed at the Villa Del Mar Apartment complex on Sabal Circle around 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, responding officers found Kimberly Martin and Willie Leigh in the bedroom, both surrounded by blood and suffering from gunshot wounds to their heads.
According to the incident reports, officers also observed a bullet hole in the wall near the bedroom, another near the bedroom door, and a firearm on a nightstand positioned between them.
Authorities informed Eyewitness News that they are still investigating who shot whom before the tragic event occurred.
They are also working to ascertain the nature of the relationship between Martin and Leigh.
Neighbors mentioned that the two individuals were new to the area. Investigators stated that the incident originated from an argument.
