LOS ANGELES — Grammy winner Usher will perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in Las Vegas.

Sunday, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation confirmed Usher would host the Feb. 11 halftime celebrations at Allegiant Stadium. The eight-time Grammy winner says he’s excited to sing on the NFL’s greatest platform.

Usher stated, “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list.” “I’m excited to show the world something new from me.”

Usher became a success with “Confessions,” which sold over 10 million records in the U.S. and won him eight 2005 Grammy nominations, winning three. Album of the year went to Ray Charles’ final album, “Genius Loves Company,” released two months after his death.

One of the best-selling music albums ever, “Confessions” produced No. 1 songs including “Yeah!” featuring Ludacris and Lil Jon, “Burn” and “Confessions Part II.” The silky duet “My Boo,” with Alicia Keys, was on his special edition. The epic record turns 20 next year.

Usher, 44, is performing his “Usher: My Way” residency in Las Vegas, which has sold out and garnered praise. He starts an eight-night Paris run on Sunday. His Super Bowl halftime performance will come after his Las Vegas residency ends in early December.

The singer coached “The Voice” and appeared in “Hustlers” and “Light It Up.”

Roc Nation founder Jay-Z declared Usher the best “artist and showman.”

“Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course,” he remarked of 1994’s self-titled Usher album. He’s recorded eight studio albums with singles, including “U Got It Bad,” “U Remind Me,” “You Make Me Wanna,” “Nice & Slow,” and “Love in This Club” with Jeezy.

“Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul,” Jay-Z said. His extraordinary journey has taken him to one of the world’s biggest stages. Looking forward to the magic.”

Halftime show co-executive producers are Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins. Hamish Hamilton directs again. The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation collaborate again.

Rihanna’s first solo performance in seven years was a spectacular halftime concert last year, while she was pregnant.

“We are so proud of what we were able to accomplish last year with the NFL and Roc Nation, and now with the insanely talented Usher set to take the stage, we’re looking forward to another incredible halftime show from one of the world’s greatest performers,” said Apple’s VP of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports, and Beats Oliver Schusser.
