A man from Southern California was found guilty of raping young girls and given a 152-year prison sentence.
Ventura County District Attorney’s Office: Omar Cruz-Hernandez, 39, of Oxnard, was sentenced on Friday for raping and sexually abusing many children.
Detectives from Oxnard Police looked into a claim of child sexual assault on June 23, 2023.
The woman reported to the authorities that Cruz-Hernandez had raped her sexually ever since she was ten years old. Police were informed by a second victim that the perpetrator had been abusing her sexually since she was 7 years old.
Investigators discovered that the man’s family connection allowed him to have access to the young girls.

Additionally, the jury determined that Cruz-Hernandez had sexually abused other people. He was given a sentence of 152 years to life in state prison on September 13.
“The defendant committed unspeakable acts of sexual abuse against multiple vulnerable children,” Michael Kern, a Ventura County District Attorney stated. “While nothing will ever undo the harm that the defendant inflicted, I hope this sentence provides even a small amount of closure to the victims and allows their healing process to continue. This sentence also demonstrates that these crimes will not be tolerated in our community and ensures that the defendant will never harm another child.”
