Deputies have stated that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting that took place early on Monday morning at the Playhouse Gentleman’s Club in Tampa.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office stated that detectives identified Alfonso Howard, 23, as one of the suspects connected to the shooting, and they apprehended him on Thursday. Howard was taken into custody.
At approximately 3:40 in the morning on Monday, deputies from Hillsborough County responded to a shooting that had occurred in the parking lot of the club. According to the investigators, a guy in his thirties was discovered with upper body trauma and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to the reports from the sheriff’s office, there were no witnesses to be identified at the location where shots had been fired in the vicinity.
Howard was arrested on one count of being a felon in possession of a handgun and was lodged into the Orient Road Jail. Officials from the HCSO have stated that he will not be charged with the murder. The sheriff’s office has not disclosed whether or not they have identified any further suspects.
There is an active investigation being place into the shooting.
