Big Lots Shuts Down 4 More Michigan Stores See the Full List of Closures

As Big Lots files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, four more of its locations in Michigan are getting ready to close.

A banner at the top of the websites for the Big Lots stores in Benton Harbor, Livonia, Saginaw, and Taylor informs users that the store is shutting.

The following are the addresses of the places that will close:

Since its initial bankruptcy filing on September 9, Big Lots has been adding stores to its list of closures.

As of May 4, Big Lots, which has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, operated more than 1,392 stores throughout 48 states. In a June statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm stated that it planned to close stores and create three more.

As it signed a deal with Nexus Capital Management LP to buy Big Lots’ assets and continuing operations, the firm intended to liquidate hundreds of locations.

Bankruptcy filings made during September, including those on September 11, September 20, and September 27, disclosed several of the Michigan store closures.

13 additional Big Lots locations in Michigan were previously set to close, including:

  • Big Rapids
  • Coldwater
  • Holland
  • Howell
  • Grandville
  • Kentwood
  • Lansing
  • Madison Heights
  • Mount Pleasant
  • Okemos
  • Petoskey
  • Portage
  • Ypsilanti

Michigan’s remaining Big Lots Stores

As of Thursday, the Big Lots stores in Grandville and Mount Pleasant are still operating.

There will still be 29 Big Lots sites in Michigan after the closure of the stores in Benton Harbor, Grandville, Livonia, Mount Pleasant, Saginaw, and Taylor.
