Braintree Movie Theater Attack: Four Young Girls Stabbed, Suspect Caught After Crash

Before the culprit was taken into custody after a catastrophic collision on Cape Cod, four teenage girls were stabbed in a brazen attack inside a Braintree movie theater on Saturday night, according to authorities.

According to Braintree police, a male entered the AMC Braintree 10 at around 6:00 p.m., went past the ticket office, and went inside one of the theaters. He stabbed and attacked four young girls, ages 9 to 17, “without saying anything and without warning” inside the theater, according to the police.

According to authorities, the suspect fled the cinema quickly after the attack and took off in a black SUV.

The four little girls were taken to a Boston hospital by first responders who arrived on the scene to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

“They looked like they just saw a horror movie and not a kid’s movie,” Mateo Rojas, a moviegoer stated. “They said one of the girls had been ‘yelling help I’ve been stabbed’ and the kids came out looking really shocked.”

After watching a short camera clip, patrol officers and detectives with Braintree Police discovered the black SUV and the suspect had vanished from the scene. The suspect’s license plate was discovered by the police, who then alerted other relevant law enforcement organizations.

According to Braintree Police, a car that fits the description is thought to have been a part of a comparable attack in Plymouth. Not long after the alleged assault, Boston 25 News was able to photograph multiple Massachusetts State Police and Plymouth Police units looking into a scene at the McDonald’s at the Route 3 South Service Plaza.

Massachusetts State Police started pursuing the car after the incident in Plymouth was reported, and that’s when it crashed in Sandwich.

After the collision, the suspected SUV on Sandwich’s Cotuit Road caught fire and turned black and burned.  Following the collision, the driver was taken into custody.

More information will be made available later, according to Braintree police.
