Brazen Daylight Robbery 70-Year-Old Man Attacked and Robbed in Bronx

Surveillance footage of a guy wanted for hitting a 70-year-old man in the head and robbing him in broad daylight on a Bronx street over the weekend was made public by police on Tuesday.

The victim was entering his apartment building in Concourse, which is close to Anderson and Jerome avenues, at about 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.

Authorities said that the suspect came up behind the victim and whacked him in the head with an unidentified instrument.

After robbing the victim of his wallet from his right front pocket, the culprit took off running, to somewhere unknown. Authorities added that he had a MetroCard and credit cards in his wallet.

The person was taken to a nearby hospital by private vehicle after suffering only minor cuts and bruises.

The suspect was last seen with a black book bag in his hands, a blue winter hat, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
